The regular season is almost here and the team still doesn’t have a leadoff hitter. Rob Thomson has tried several different lineups this spring, but it seems when it comes to penciling in someone on the top, there are two options – Kyle Schwarber and Trea Turner.
Multiple people around the team have talked about a desire to see Turner up top in order to reallocate Schwarber’s power elsewhere in the lineup. Yet still on most days during the week, Schwarber is up top. There have been some games with Turner in the leadoff position, but it seems more and more, the team is leaning on doing the same old, same old.
