That was a poor ending to the week
I said at the beginning of last week that the absolute minimum the Phillies could do against the Blue Jays and Marlins was 4-2. The accomplished that, but the way it ended for the Phillies was just ugly.
Aaron Nola being bad on Saturday.
The offense falling asleep on Sunday.
The injuries piling up just a little higher to test their depth.
It’s not the exact way one wants to perform when playing teams that should be boat raced off the field. This weeks, it’s the Rays, followed by a big set against the Mets. The only thing I ask is that the fans not let New York take over Citizens Bank Park.
On to the links.
Phillies news:
- J.T. Realmuto feels a lot better with his knee, but Edmundo Sosa needs some time off with back spasms.
- Jose Cuas was claimed by the team on waivers. Ok then.
MLB news:
- Jacob deGrom and Max Scherzer are set to make their returns to the Rangers’ rotation this week.
- If a team has a tough second half of their season, does that mean doom once October come around?
- Contain your shock, but it looks like Kris Bryant is going to miss the rest of the season. What a fall from grace.
