The Phillies have a new hall of famer
Three new players were elected to the baseball Hall of Fame last night, with Ichiro Suzuki, CC Sabathia, and Billy Wagner all receiving enough votes to be immortalized in Cooperstown. Wagner will join the late Dick Allen as Phillies representatives in the Hall of Fame class of 2025.
Wagner of course played for Philadelphia from 2004-2005, appearing in 120 games with a pristine 1.86 ERA and compiling 59 saves. In 126 innings while wearing red pinstripes, Wagner racked up 146 strikeouts with just 26 walks.
Remember when Wagner hitting 100 MPH on the stadium radar gun used to be on the nightly news? Oh, how the game has changed.
