So long partner.
It’s already known that the Phillies are once again returning most of their roster for 2025, but it’s now official that at least one key piece has a new home. Jeff Hoffman has officially agreed to a three year, $33M deal with the Toronto Blue Jays that could be worth more with incentives. Despite some buzz about being a starter, Hoffman will remain in the bullpen with Toronto.

Hoffman is returning to the team that originally drafted him in the first round in 2014. Toronto traded him away in 2016 as part of the Troy Tulowitzki deal and he then made his MLB debut with Colorado.
Hoffman resurrected his career in 2023 when the Phillies promoted him to the Majors after impressing while facing a rehabbing Bryce Harper. In two years, Hoffman appeared in 122 games with a 2.28 ERA and a 158/35 strikeout to walk ratio.
