It’s been written in the stars
Well, there you have it. The final battle of spring training has been concluded and we have a victor.
Kody Clemens has made the Phillies as their 26th man. The team has drawn trade interest in Buddy Kennedy, Dave Dombrowski said, and will try to get him to a club. If not, he’ll be DFA’d on Thursday.

With that move placing Clemens on the 26-man roster and the team’s waiver claim of Carlos Hernandez, it looks like the Opening Day roster is now set. Barring an injury in the spring training finale in Clearwater, it looks like the team’s roster will be set something like this:
Hitters
Catchers – J.T. Reamuto, Rafael Marchan
Infielders – Bryce Harper, Bryson Stott, Trea Turner, Alec Bohm, Edmundo Sosa, Kody Clemens
Outfielders – Nick Castellanos, Brandon Marsh, Max Kepler, Johan Rojas
DH – Kyle Schwarber
Pitchers
Rotation – Zack Wheeler, Aaron Nola, Cristopher Sanchez, Jesus Luzardo, Taijuan Walker
Bullpen – Jordan Romano, Orion Kerkering, Matt Strahm, Jose Alvarado, Tanner Banks, Carlos Hernandez, Jose Ruiz, Joe Ross
It’s a solid roster, one fully capable of competing for the division and the league championship, if not for a World Series title. There will be fluctuations throughout the season thanks to injuries, ineffectiveness and trade acquisitions. They will always be on the lookout for upgrades, no matter the time of year.
