There are ways this can go
Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the MLB. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Philadelphia Phillies fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
Every year, we make predictions about the team and their fate. The more popular predictions that are made have to do with individual things, like who will be the team’s MVP, how many home runs will Bryce Harper hit and the like. This week, we’re asking you about the team itself.
There are a multitude of ways this season can go. Banking on the health of the team is a big one, but the health and medical staff have shown a particular aptitude for keeping players healthy these past few seasons. Feels like we can be reasonably assured things will continue on the same path. They have a solid foundation of stars that can produce, role players that know what needs to be done and depth pieces that won’t allow them to fall apart.
So, we ask you this question:
Unlike the silly exercise that NFL prognosticators do where they “break down” a schedule and project individual wins and losses, we’re just wondering what you see for the Phillies in terms of specific bands of wins. Are you seeing them as one of the league’s elite teams, operating in the top percentiles, more of a good to occasionally great team, one of the middling ones or in the bottom tier of the league?
Personally, I look at this team as one of the elite collections of talent in the game the way they are currently constructed, but that likely also depends on your own personal definition of “elite”.
Let us know what you’re thinking!
