The draft has come and gone, and for the most part, teams have slowed down in adding to their rosters.
The Eagles killed it in the draft and filled a few holes on the team.
Let’s look at a few free agents that the Eagles could still sign before training camp.
Emmanuel Ogbah
The Eagles are no strangers to adding players along their offensive and defensive lines. Ogbah would be a veteran signing that would provide more depth to their edge rush room. Ogbah was drafted in the 2nd round in 2016, and he is 6’4″, 278 pounds.
He is coming off a season with six sacks, one forced fumble, nine quarterback hits, and three tackles for loss. The Eagles brought in Bryce Huff this offseason, but that doesn’t mean they are done adding to that position group.
Justin Simmons
Eagles fans have had Justin Simmons on their radar all offseason. Simmons has been one of the best safety in the safety the past few years. The Eagles have added CJGJ and drafted Ooper DeJean, who can play all over, but Justin Simmons would still be an awesome player to add to the defense. He is most likely a free agent because teams aren’t offering him a salary as high as he wants, so it is possible the Eagles won’t get a chance to sign him because they won’t break the bank.
Simmons is 30 years old and coming off a season with 70 total tackles, two forced fumbles, and three interceptions. The Eagles wouldn’t sign him to a long-term deal, so if they do work something out, it would probably only be for one year.
There are still plenty of players who can sign with the Eagles to help bolster the roster.
Howie has had a great offseason, and it will be exciting to see how this all comes together.
