The Eagles Are Always Adding. August’s Finds Are Some Great Additions.
Once again this year, the late August heat is unveiling the reality of NFL cut-downs.
Before the Eagles make cuts—going from 90 players down to 53, presumably after the next preseason game—the team continues to add talent to elevate the competition at key positions.
When you play for a Howie Roseman team, you are constantly adding talent—talent from everywhere.
Just days before the Eagles’ first preseason game of the 2024 Campaign, additional resources joined the team at Training Camp at the Novacare Complex.
Last season, a linebacker was a significant need on the team. The Eagles signed free-agent linebacker Shaquille Quarterman, who only stayed on the roster for less than a week. Quarterman was a former fourth-round selection of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2020 and has been a major Special Teams contributor. At the University of Miami, he was an All-ACC Player for the Hurricanes.
The week before, the Eagles signed Tight End Armani Rogers. As a quarterback at Ohio, Rogers set an FBS record for the longest run (99 yards) and an NCAA record. As an undrafted free agent, he signed with the Commanders and played for two seasons in 2022–2023.
Many thought that with an impressive Training Camp from Johnny Wilson and the most talented duo in the NFL, that receiver would be the last position that the Eagles would add. In July, they would bring back Wide Receiver Griffin Hebert. At Louisiana Tech, Griffin racked up over 1,500 yards and fourteen touchdowns before signing with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 2023. In December of 2023, Hebert signed on to the Eagles Practice Squad.
He’s not the only receiver to join the Eagles. This week, the Eagles added speedster and former Penn State receiver Jahan Dotson. A former first-round NFL selection of the Washington Commanders in 2022, Dotson was dominant as a Nittany Lion with 183 receptions for over 2,700 yards and 25 touchdowns in four seasons.
A Howie Roseman team never stops adding talent.
This summer is no exception.
