The Linc Is the Place to Go for Awesome Events, Whether You Are Visiting or Philly Born and Bred.
Right after Labor Day, the Eagles will garner international fame by playing their first ever international game as a home contest in team history. Lincoln Financial Field, the imposing home stadium that they left behind already has reached fame status.
This September, the Eagles will be in Sao Paulo, Brazil for NFL Opening Weekend. All eyes will be on they and the Packers. It may take some focus away from Lincoln Financial Field.
Right after the Eagles began an ascent with Andy Reid in 1999 on the field, they looked to the other item that every successful NFL team has to have. A state-of-the-art stadium.
Lincoln Financial Field opened in August 2003 after almost 25 years of home games at Veterans Stadium. Some of the most iconic games in Eagles history took place at the Vet, which closed its doors with a Ronde Barber interception return for a touchdown in the 2003 NFC Championship Game.
The Linc has it all. Complete with 172 luxury boxes, seating for nearly 67,000 screaming fans, a WIFI coverage zone for 45,000 users, video boards, and was originally opened with wind turbines that produced 1% of green energy in the stadium, and was also implemented with solar energy that accounts for 40% of it. The Eagles also contributed $100 million to its own sustainability programs.
The original cost was $512 Million with an upgrade in 2014 to $125 Million.
Gotta keep the house in great shape.
Last month, the Linc played host to Monster Jam — the monster car event including over 45 vehicles including the iconic Grave Digger. This past April, Wrestlemania returned to Philadelphia. Last week, The Linc played host to the 2025 NCAA Mens Lacrosse Championships. In July, soccer will return to South Philadelphia again when Liverpool meets Arsenal.
In 2026, six FIFA World Cup Soccer games will be played at The Linc.
While our Eagles leave Philadelphia International Airport in September as Pennsylvania must-see’s, and fly into South America as international must-see’s, their home stadium will already be a must-see when in The Keystone State.
Sorry, Pittsburgh.
