It’s been almost a full month since the Eagles last signing. And during the quiet weeks of the offseason leading up to the draft, it’s the perfect time for an announcement:
The #Eagles have agreed to terms with WR Terrace Marshall Jr., sources say, as the former #Panthers, #49ers and #Raiders WR gets a 1-year deal. Contract done by Vince Taylor of @eliteloyaltysp. pic.twitter.com/uNrqct9MfM

After losing Parris Campbell to the Dallas Cowboys in free agency. The Eagles were left with Ainias Smith and Johnny Wilson on the depth chart following A.J. Brown, Devonta Smith and Jahan Dotson.
Shopping for a veteran receiver was the perfect add before the upcoming draft, where the Eagles will have 8 picks to assess any larger holes still in the roster.
Low Value, One Year Deals
With another short term contract, the Eagles add to the list of one year prove it deals this offseason. Allowing the team to capitalize with comp picks if a player has a successful season. A formula that’s worked quite well for both the players and the team the last few seasons.
Just this offseason the Eagles should acquire four compensatory picks in the 2026 draft:
- Isaiah Rodgers 2/$15M (6th)
- Mekhi Becton 2/$20M (5th)
- Josh Sweat 4/$76.4M (4th)
- Milton Williams 4/$104M (3rd)
The Eagles Newest Receiver
Drafted in the 2nd round of the 2021 draft, the Panthers selected Terrace Marshall with the 59th overall pick.
With only 138 yards from 17 receptions in his rookie year, it took until his sophomore season to show more success with what has been a failing franchise.
In 2022 Marshall had 490 yards, including 1TD on 28 receptions. With bad quarterback rooms in his three years with the Panthers (Darnold, Mayfield, Newton, Dalton), it’s no surprise the success was inconsistent.
Not that his time in Las Vegas was any better. In 7 games Marshall had just 41 yards last season.
Now, coming into this Eagles season Marshall will be able to compete amongst some of Philadelphia’s depth for a potential roster spot come September.
