The Eagles Didn’t Make Any Significant Moves At the Trade Deadline. It’s a Clear Signal.
The Eagles did the unimaginable this week. Or perhaps it’s what they didn’t do. Wheeling-and-dealing GM Howie Roseman — didn’t squeeze in under-the-deadline-trades at the last-second — as he did in previous seasons when the NFL Trade Deadline elapsed this week.
What this means for the 2024–2025 Eagles; who made no moves at the trade deadline, is that whether this team roars through the NFC playoffs like 2023 or fizzles in a still January wind like 2022 and 2024, these Philadelphia Eagles are good enough to beat anyone. A loaded offense — coupled with an improved defense as well as impressive rookie contributions — has every chance to win the NFC and beyond.
On the opposing sideline this week with be the Dallas Cowboys. Jerry-Jones’, Mike McCarthy, Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, 2nd-time Zeke Elliott high-priced, MRI-booking, Cowboys are once again on the verge of mediocrity.
But the Philadelphia Eagles are here to help. This week they released former Cowboys backup quarterback Will Grier, with many around the Novacare Complex having continued faith in backup Kenny Pickett. The Eagles also parted ways with tight end Albert Okwuegbunam. The former Denver Bronco who was never able to contribute for the Eagles alongside Dallas Goedert.
The moves are a clear sign that South Philadelphia’s Novacare Complex believes that the Eagles are not only in a position to compete. They’ll compete this year.
