Former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce appears to be thriving now that he’s retired from professional football.
According to a report from The U.S. Sun, Kelce built a $15,000 man cave after leaving the gridiron behind. He has purchased some iconic pieces of sports memorabilia over the years, so it’s possible they’re featured in his man cave.
In addition to spending a decent chunk of change on a man cave, Kelce drops about $2,000 a month on vintage books. The future Hall of Famer prefers that as opposed to buying expensive clothes.
“He loves the simple life,” a source told The U.S. Sun. “Jason is the perfect anti-star.”
Kelce has been very open about the post-football chapter of his life. In fact, he recently revealed that he has already lost 20 pounds since announcing his retirement.
“As far as the weight is concerned, I weighed 295 for the majority of my NFL career, and I look forward to losing some of those pounds,” Kelce told GQ. “I don’t want to get too small. I think a lot of guys, especially offensive linemen, they lose too much weight, and then they look like bobbleheads because their neck gets so small, but their head stays the same size. So for me, I feel like for some reason, 250 to 260 feels like I’ll be still big and be happy with the way I look without having a six-pack. But I’ll still be able to have that stature a little bit. Right now, I’m about 277.”
Fans will get to see Kelce every week this upcoming NFL season. That’s because he’ll be part of ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown” crew.
