No sales tax for DJax
Here’s a development that I’m pretty sure almost everyone didn’t see coming out of nowhere: DeSean Jackson is now a college football head coach.
The former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver is taking over at Delaware State University (Division I FCS), according to multiple reports.
Breaking: DeSean Jackson and Delaware State are finalizing an agreement for him to take the head coaching job there, sources told @PeteThamel.
Sources said it has always been a dream of Jackson’s to coach at an HBCU. Victory Formation Media was first to report the news. pic.twitter.com/uhC5zrodAd

And so the California native will presumably be in the Philly area more often as he coaches about 80 miles down the road in Dover, Delaware. The geographic proximity could also be cool for Eagles fans who want to play for DJax.
Jackson, who last played in an NFL game in 2022, has no formal coaching experience. The same goes for Jackson’s former Eagles teammate, Michael Vick, who was recently hired as Norfolk State’s head coach.
But now Jackson and Vick are set to face each other with both teams having membership in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC).
It’ll be interesting to see how these programs fare with former high-profile Eagles players leading the charge. Something to monitor.
