The bye week is over, and the Eagles will take the field against the Browns this Sunday.
It’s their second time taking Lincoln Financial Field this season, and fans are looking for a better outcome than when they played the Falcons a few weeks ago.
Not only are we looking for a win, but we are looking for a win that shows how good the Eagles really are. Both sides of the ball must come out and play up to their standards.
The Eagles NEED a convincing win against the Browns.
The Browns are one of the worst teams in the league so far this season. Their offense is absolutely terrible, and their defense is a middle-of-the-pack type of defense. The Browns are also pretty banged up, with 11 players not having full practices on Friday.
The Browns offense is the only offense not to have a 300-yard game this season. They are the only offense not to score more than 17 points so far this season. They have only been to the red zone eight total times and only have seven total touchdowns through five games. They have allowed 26 sacks through five games as well. In the past few seasons, this is the exact type of team that would look horrible against everyone except Philly. Our defense HAS to capitalize on this awful offense and come out looking like an actual NFL defense.
Now that A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Lane Johnson are back, the Eagles’ offense will be back to full strength, which should be a huge boost.
The offense should be able to put up at least 28 points against this miserable Browns team, but that will depend on more than just the Eagles getting their guys back. Jalen Hurts needs to have a game with no turnovers.
If he doesn’t, it will be clear that he has a major problem that might be unfixable.
Both sides of the ball had some huge issues that needed to be fixed during the bye week.
The Eagles need to show that they fixed them, and the only way to do that is to win convincingly.
