Brandon Graham confirmed that he’s still retiring after the 2024 season.
When signing a one-year deal in March, the longtime Philadelphia Eagles linebacker announced that his 15th season would be his last. The 36-year-old stood by those plans on the first day of training camp, but he could remain a part of the team in another capacity.
“Last first day as a player,” Graham told reporters Wednesday, via Dave Uram of KYW Newsradio. “I don’t know what the future holds next year in the organization.”
Graham has spent his entire NFL career with the Eagles, who made him the No. 13 pick in 2010. He has 467 tackles, 73 sacks, and 21 forced fumbles in 195 career games.
After making his only Pro Bowl in 2020, Graham suffered a torn Achilles tendon that ended his 2021 season in Week 2. He had played all but one game over the previous nine seasons.
Graham returned to compile a career-high 11 sacks in 2022. Although his role diminished, the veteran played every game last season.
Graham’s retirement will continue to signal the end of an era in Philadelphia. Star center Jason Kelce and defensive lineman Fletcher Cox each retired this offseason after more than a decade with the organization.
As he begins his final season, Graham aims to savor every moment.
“This is my last year, so just trying to soak it all in,” he said. “Trying to enjoy every day, trying to give it everything. No stone unturned.”
