As expected.
What was expected to be the case is now official: Jalen Hurts has been cleared to play in the Philadelphia Eagles’ Wild Card playoff game on Sunday.
Speaking during his Friday press conference, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni confirmed that Hurts successfully passed through the concussion protocol.
Hurts returned to practice earlier this week for the first time since suffering his head injury during the Eagles’ Week 16 loss to the Washington Commanders. Hurts was limited on Wednesday before being upgraded to full participation on Thursday. His apparent progress pointed to him being cleared sooner than later.
There was some consternation about Hurts not attending practice leading up to the Eagles’ Week 18 game but that was clearly much ado about nothing.
Hurts is back and ready to roll.
Of course, it’ll be interesting to see if he’s rusty at all or if he’s sharp from the jump.
For what it’s worth, Sirianni had this to say about Hurts’ practice performance:
“He’s had a good week of practice. Really good week.”
