The NFC East hierarchy is changing, and while the Commanders are now having success, the Dallas Cowboys are looking for a new head coach. Mike McCarthy won’t be returning.
Unable to agree on a new contract before Tuesday’s deadline, Tom Pelissero reports that McCarthy will have interest from the Saints and Chicago Bears.

McCarthy was 49-35 during his tenure in Dallas. He had three straight 12-win seasons from 2021 to 2023 but only won one playoff game. The Cowboys fell to 7-10 during the 2024 season due to injuries.
Since McCarthy took over, the Cowboys have been 5-5 against the Eagles, but they were swept in 2024. Both NFC East rivals are headed to the divisional round of the playoffs, and former defensive coordinator Dan Quinn is doing a fantastic job with Washington.
