Eagles football is back! the Eagles wrapped up their third training camp practice earlier today, and reports coming out of camp are that Jalen Hurts has been on fire. It is extremely important that he takes a step forward from the disappointing season he had last year. We know he is better than what he showed last year, and so far, this year he’s looking good.
Hurts has been connecting with AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith a lot over the first three practices. He has also been developing some chemistry with Parris Campbell, who is competing for the third wide receiver spot. It is exciting to hear that his passing looked better than it did during last year’s training camp. last year, it was often reported that he didn’t look great at training camp, and that a lot of balls hit the ground. So far this year, it sounds like the opposite. It could have been Sirianni’s terrible offense that put Hurts in some bad situations, so maybe Kellen Moore’s new offense has been helping Hurts see the field better.
It is also worth noting that reports are saying that Hurts looks much better and faster as a runner. Last year, injuries kept Hurts rushing ability quiet, and that is something that the offense was really missing. Without his explosive running ability, defenses don’t have to account for the extra weapons in Hurts’ legs and are more ready for the pass. If he is able to return to his 2021 and 2022 form in terms of rushing, the Eagles offense is adding back another dimension, and that will put their offense in a higher tier.
Everyone wants to see the Eagles offense perform like they did in 2022. Jalen Hurts’ rushing attack was a huge reason for their success that year. Reports from camp say he looks good running and passing the ball so far. If Hurts can bounce back, the Eagles are going to have a very successful 2024 season.
