Heading into Week 8, the Eagles sit at 4-2.
Coming off a win streak against the Giants and Browns, they’ll be playing the Bengals for the first time since 2020. It’s a team that is also coming off a 2 game-win streak against the Giants and Browns.
If you don’t remember the last time the Eagles and Bengals faced off, I wouldn’t blame you.
It was the Eagles’ last game to end in a tie, and it kicked off the 0-2 start of what would become a franchise-altering 4-12-1 season.
If you’d like to relive some of those memories, you can find some action-packed highlights of the 23-23 tie here.
4-2 – Why So Blue?
Maybe the sky wasn’t falling when the Eagles entered their early bye week 2-2.
Now, just a Saquon Barkley drop away from being 5-1.
Sitting at 4-2 isn’t the end of the world for the Eagles. They are currently 8th in the NFC, tied with the Bears, who occupy the 7th seed, and 2nd in the NFC East, behind the 5-2 Commanders.
The good news is that these teams will face each other during this weekend’s afternoon slate. Depending on how the rest of the weekend goes, the Eagles will find themselves going from 8th in the NFC to as low as 9th or as high as 6th and only 1 game behind the Washington Commanders for 2nd (and 1st in the NFC East).
And they’re only 4 weeks away from their first match against Washington. The standings could be completely flipped by then. Or a race that will go down to the Week 18 wire.
Buyers or Sellers
There’s no reason to pack up the season and start trading off pieces like they’re vying for the first overall pick.
But with less than 2 weeks until the November 5th trade deadline. The clock is ticking on the Eagles and whether or not they’re all in on the season or holding on to their draft selections.
With only seven 2025 draft picks and eight 2026 picks. There aren’t nearly as many picks available as the Eagles have had in the past.
So they’ll have to make the most of what’s remaining:
2025
- 1st
- 2nd
- 3rd
- 4th (Lions)
- 5th
- 5th (Commanders)
- 5th (Texans
2026
- 1st
- 2nd
- 3rd
- 3rd (Jets)
- 4th
- 5th
- 6th
- 7th
Getting Healthier
After losing receivers for multiple weeks and now down multiple members of the offensive line, the Eagles’ injury report is starting to look a little better.

With a list of concerns, being mostly full participants is a good sign for the upcoming game. Suppose the rotational members of the Eagles’ offensive line, Tyler Steen and Fred Johnson, can play with the level of consistency they’ve had in previous outings.
In that case, the Eagles’ offense shouldn’t have much to worry about, as it scored above 21 points for the third time this season against the Giants.
With injuries striking teams left, right, and center, perhaps getting to week 18 healthy will be the biggest key to surviving the postseason.
If you were in control of this Eagles trade deadline, which picks would you move?
Are any players at the top of your wish list come November 5th?
