Just over a week since the new league year began and free agency frenzy was upon us. After winning Super Bowl 59 the Eagles had less than a month to decide on their free agents.
Below are the Eagles free agents and the new contracts they have signed.
- LB Zack Baun (3/$51M PHI)
- RG Mekhi Becton (2/$20M LAC)
- DE Josh Sweat (4/$76.4M ARI)
- DT Milton Williams (4/$104M NE)
- CB Isaiah Rodgers (2/$15M MIN)
- RB Kenneth Gainwell (1/1.79M PIT)
- LB Oren Burks (2/$5M CIN)
- FB Ben VanSumeren (1/$1.055M PHI)
- WR Parris Campbell (1/$NA DAL)
- OT Fred Johnson (1/$NA JAX)
- OT Le’Raven Clark
- WR Britain Covey
- OL Jack Driscoll
- LS Rick Lovato
- CB Avonte Maddox
- TE C.J. Uzomah
- C Nick Gates
The Eagles also released two players, providing cap relief and opportunity to play elsewhere for the following players:
- CB Darius Slay (1/$10M PIT)
- CB James Bradberry
Finally Making Moves
The Eagles kicked it all off by making two trades. Many questioned the way the offseason was heading as the Eagles made the following moves.
In:
- QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson (CLE)
- OL Kenyon Green (HOU)
- 2025 5th Rd Pick (#164)
- 2026 5th Rd Pick (HOU)
Out:
- S C.J. Gardner-Johnson (to HOU)
- QB Kenny Pickett (to CLE)
- 2026 6th Rd Pick (to HOU)
After upgrading their 2026 6th rounder and acquiring an additional 2025 pick. The Eagles are now projected to have 20 picks in the next two drafts. Including 8 in 2025 and up to 12(comp picks pending) in 2026.
With just over a month until Round 1 starts, don’t expect Howie Roseman to stay quiet and to spend all 8 picks on draft night.
1-Year Deal Bonanza
In the last week the Eagles have signed nine free agents, all to 1-year contracts.
- RB A.J. Dillon
- OLB Joshua Uche
- TE Harrison Bryant
- CB Adoree Jackson
- LS Charley Hughlett
- OLB Patrick Johnson
- KR/PR Avery Williams
- TE Kylen Granson
- OLB Azeez Ojulari
Shopping for 1-year prove it deals is beneficial for the Eagles future. Providing players the opportunity to maximize their value before hitting free agency the following season allows the Eagles to get their cap figured out for the young defensive core due in the coming years.
There’s still some names on the board for the Eagles to sign, including Justin Simmons who was on their radar last season. But for now the Eagles should still look to improve these positions:
- Safety
- Offensive Line Depth
- Defensive Line Depth
Who’s on your radar for the Eagles to acquire through free agency, a trade or the upcoming draft?
