The Eagles have won eight straight games now with their impressive victory over the Baltimore Ravens. The team is firing on all cylinders and the Eagles have a few rookies contributing in a big way to their success!
Quinyon Mitchell: B+
Quinyon Mitchell had yet another dominant night in coverage. Despite facing down an MVP candidate in Lamar Jackson and a handful of playmaking Ravens pass catchers, Mitchell gave up only four yards receiving on five targets. Didn’t matter who he lined up against, he locked them down. Mitchell gets a bit of a ding due to some bad tackling in run defense. The Ravens challenged the perimeters with their rushing attack and Mitchell struggled coming up to tackle Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry at times. Not the end of the world, but a slight blemish on an otherwise dominant evening.
Cooper DeJean: A
Cooper DeJean had a lot to deal with as a coverage defender as the Ravens attacked the shallow middle of the field a ton due to the Eagles shutting down their deep game. He still did a good job, limiting yards after the catch and breaking up some passes. Where he did his best work, though, was attacking the line of scrimmage. DeJean played some amazing run defense against a dangerous Ravens rushing tandem and, most impressively, took down Derrick Henry behind the line on a swing pass. DeJean just keeps making huge plays.
Jalyx Hunt: B-
With Brandon Graham out for the year, Jalyx Hunt was destined to get a bigger role. With 35 snaps against the Ravens, Hunt was on the field for almost 50% of the defensive snaps which is no small thing. Hunt had a splash play when he chipped in on a sack of Lamar Jackson. His speed was evidently too much for the Ravens blockers. He was quiet outside that one moment, which isn’t too surprising. Hunt will need to get more consistent as he gets more snaps through the end of the year, but the Eagles will take the big plays where he can provide them.
