The Albert Okweugbunam experiment appears to be over, as the Philadelphia Eagles are releasing the veteran tight end.
Philadelphia made the move after opening his 21-day practice window, but it chose to keep Okweugbunam on injured reserve.

Okwuegbunam started the regular season on injured reserve after undergoing a core muscle repair procedure at the end of training camp. His 21-day practice window to return from IR opened on Oct. 16, and he was sidelined for the Week 9 win over Jacksonville despite not having an injury designation.
Had Okwuegbunam not been released today or activated off injured reserve leading up to Week 10 against the Cowboys, he would have been forced to sit for the entire 2024 regular season.
