The Eagles are heading to the west coast to take on the Los Angeles Rams this Sunday night. The Birds will be without one of their top offensive weapons, DeVonta Smith. He has been battling a hamstring injury for a few weeks now, but this week they decided to hold him out. This is the second time Smith has missed time this year. Earlier in the season it was a concussion that made him miss time.
Smith has only missed two games in his four-year NFL career so far. He has been extremely durable, which is probably a surprise to a lot of people. He was painted as someone who would probably be injury prone due to his physique, but he has proven those critics wrong. Smith’s injury is similar to A.J. Browns injury earlier this season, so it is going to be interesting to see if the Eagles put him in IR.
With Smith out of the lineup this week, it’s time for A.J. Brown to step up and take the game over. He’s only went over 100 yards in a game three times this season, and he’s only scored three touchdowns. It’s time for him to have one of those 150 yard and 2+ touchdown games. Dallas Goedert is going to have to step up too, and Saquan Barkley is going to have to keep doing his thing.
The Rams offense is high powered. The Eagles are going to have to put up some good offensive numbers this week if they want to win this game. Cooper Kupp, Puka Nacua, and Kyren Williams make a dangerous trio that is bound to score a few times. The Eagles defense has been playing lights out, and there is no reason to expect them to do bad this week, but there is good reason to expect the Rams to score a few times.
Now that the Birds are missing one of their top offensive weapons, it’s time for the other pass catchers to step up and take over a game.
