Earlier this offseason, All-Pro defensive lineman Aaron Donald announced his retirement from the NFL. This week, he appeared on the “Green Light” podcast to talk about his incredible career.
During his interview with Chris Long on “Green Light,” Donald was asked if there was a team that always had a good plan in place to slow him down.
Donald rolled his eyes before answering that question. That’s because he was so frustrated with the way Jason Kelce and the Philadelphia Eagles contained him.
“I hated playing against Philly,” Donald said. “Kelce’s little fast [expletive] always ran full-speed. He would snap the ball and run right over. I’d be like, ‘Bro, you got some good guards. Let them work. You don’t have to help them every time.’ He told me, ‘I’m not letting you ruin the game.’
“Every time I played the Eagles, I never really got any one-on-ones. I got one or two in the game and that would be it. If you don’t win your one-on-one, you’re done. You’ll get double-teamed for the rest of the game.”

After hearing this story, it’s sort of hilarious to think that Donald and Kelce will probably be part of the same Hall of Fame class.
Kelce also retired this offseason. Just like Donald, he decided he’s done dominating his opponents every Sunday.
