Luckily, the Eagles WR was able to get the ball back from a fan and return it to his quarterback.
The Eagles went to the second-man-up on Sunday against the Cowboys when Kenny Pickett got knocked out of the game. Quarterback Tanner McKee came in early in the third quarter and played most of the second half. It didn’t take long for the young QB to connect with A.J. Brown in the endzone for McKee’s first career TD.
Unfortunately, filled with excitement, A.J. Brown promptly celebrated the touchdown by throwing the ball about 40 yards into the stands. The WR didn’t even know what he’d done until he got to the sideline and head coach Nick Sirianni pointed it out. Brown, always a good teammate, went on a mission to retrieve the ball.
With the help of Big Dom, and an Eagles fan who was eager to return the momento, Brown was able to deliver McKee’s first career TD ball to the quarterback shortly afterward. Following the game, McKee said he appreciated Brown getting the ball back, with Brown admitting he felt bad, especially because of how far he threw it.
Brown said, “We got great fans here — they brought the ball back, so I gave him a jersey.”
