With the 20th overall pick in the 2025 Bleeding Green Nation community mock draft, Denver Broncos GM Silverlark60 selects …
Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State
GM thoughts
As the GM for the Bronco’s we are looking to improve one of the skill positions on the offense with our first round pick. We considered RB early in the process, this changed as we worked through our pre-draft prep and player visits, we believe our RB will be available at pick 51 in the 2nd round.
After making the decision on RB, we had narrowed our search down to these three players.
Tyler Warren – TE – Penn Sate
Colston Loveland – TE – Michigan
Emeka Egbuka – WR – Ohio State
There was a trade in place with the Bears if Warren was available at pick 10, once that was off the table, we worked the phones to move up a few picks for Loveland and had a deal with the Cardinals if McMillian was off the board, alas the Cowboys didn’t help us out, Jerry has aged out.
In the end, we stood pat and took one of our three targets.
The Pick is in
Emeka Egbuka – WR – Ohio State
Ohio Sate has been producing top prospects at WR. Since 2022 there have been four drafted in the first round and Egbuka will extend that trend in 2025. He was a 5 star recruit out of high school and a top 10 overall prospect nationally. During his freshman year at OSU he got to learn from Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave, during his sophomore year is was Jaxon Smith-Njiba, and his junior year was paired with Marvin Harrison, that’s quite the group to be able to absorb knowledge from.
He broke out during his sophomore season with 74 catches for 1151 yards and 10 touchdowns. His junior year was marred by injuries which caused him to miss 3 games. He had a healthy senior season and delivered with 81 catches for 1011 yards and 10 touchdowns over 16 games. He set the school record for receptions with 205 career receptions.
His decision to return for his senior season certainly paid off dividends for his draft position and his NFL career. He graduated in December 2023 with a degree in marketing. He was a key contributor to the Buckeyes’ 2024 National Championship run
He has an estimated RAS score of 9.27, estimated because he didn’t do everything that RAS score is based upon. He ran a 4.47 and 4.49, 40 at his pro day, while other sources have it at 4.45. He is 6’ 1” and weights 205 pounds with a 38” vertical jump and a 4.12 short shuttle time.

Strengths
- Elite route running
- Spatial awareness
- Manipulate defenders within his routes
- Reliable target
- Special teams contributor out the gate
- Natural hands catcher and tracks ball well
- Makes contested catches
- Creates mismatches out of the slot and in turn produces solid YAC
- Doesn’t shy away from physical football
Weaknesses
- Injury history
- Concerns against press coverage and bigger CB’s
- Sustaining blocking in run game
- Lacks elite speed and as such won’t stretch defenses vertically
Comps
Amon-Ra St. Brown
Chris Goodwin
Outlook
Sean Payton has a history of great WR’s in the slot and Egbuka looks to continue this trend. Would not be surprised if he develops into the “Joker” role Payton covets in his offense as his strengths best fit in the slot.
The Broncos are in one of the toughest divisions in football, facing HC’s Reid, Carroll, and Harbaugh twice each season with opposing QB’s Mahomes, Smith, and Herbert. Adding Egbuka gives Nix a reliable target who has great YAC ability. They will look for Egbuka to step up in a big way to compete for the division title.
This was my first foray into picking and doing a write up on said pick in a community mock draft. Thank you for the opportunity and I hope that it meets folks expectations.
