Just moments ago, Villanova cut down the nets after beating No. 5 seed Houston to win the South Region and earn a trip to the Final Four. However, the status of Justin Moore somewhat overshadowed the joyous celebration for the Wildcats.
Moore had to leave Saturday’s Elite Eight game with what looked like a potentially serious injury. He suffered the blow late in the second half while Villanova was trying to maintain its lead over Houston.
The Wildcats helped Moore off the court. He never returned to the game.
Then, during Villanova’s celebration after beating the Cougars, Moore sat on the bench with what appeared to be tears in his eyes. He eventually left on crutches while Wildcats player continued to celebrate.
“Unfortunately, Justin Moore is on crutches here and leaving the floor rather than taking part in the postgame celebration. Very tough moment. Jay Wright just came over to hug him,” Dan Wolken tweeted.

“The question now for Villanova is Justin Moore’s status moving forward. He is still on the bench seated after leaving the game late with an injury,” Jon Rothstein tweeted.

Villanova will no doubt celebrate winning the South Region and advancing to the Final Four.
However, Justin Moore’s status is going to be the main storyline over the next week.
