Villanova’s Justin Moore sustained a right knee sprain during the first half of the Villanova-Kansas State game on Tuesday night. He will not return for the remainder of the contest, per team officials.
No further updates have been given regarding the severity of the injury or his status, and there wasn’t one available immediately post-game, as Villanova went on to lose in overtime.
“Obviously, Justin’s our leader,” Neptune said after the game. “He’s been that the whole year. I was really proud of the way our guys rallied and stepped up in his absence.”

Moore left the game after eight minutes of action, where he had three points and one rebound. He was 1-for-3 and had the first basket of the game, connecting from long range to open the Big East/Big 12 Battle matchup.
Villanova was trailing, 33-25, entering halftime, when the team officially announced the news.
Moore is the Wildcats’ second-highest scorer this season. He is averaging 14.4 points per game, with 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. Moore entered Tuesday’s game shooting 39.8% overall and 29.3% from deep, with an impressive 96.4% mark at the free-throw line.
