Villanova announced the signing of forward Enoch Boakye to a financial aid agreement to join the Wildcats for the 2024-25 season.
Boakye will join returning forward Eric Dixon in the frontcourt after Dixon announced this week he is returning to campus.
The 6-foot-11 native of Brampton, Ontario, Canada spent the 2023-24 season at Fresno State after beginning his college career at Arizona State.
Boakye averaged 22.7 minutes, 7.7 points and 7.5 rebounds per game last season for the Bulldogs. He also connected on 61 percent of his field goal attempts.
“Enoch is a great addition to our basketball family,” stated Villanova Head Coach Kyle Neptune. “The strengths of his game mirror the ones we value most as a program. He is a high-level rebounder, shot blocker, and defender with good touch around the rim. Most importantly, he is an intelligent all-around basketball player. Our staff is excited to work with Enoch.”
As for Dixon, Neptune said: “Eric handled this process with great maturity and thought. We’re obviously thrilled that he will be returning to lead our team in 2024-25. Throughout his time here, Eric’s work ethic, intelligence and skill have allowed him to improve every year. In our minds, he’s one of the top basketball players in the country and a cornerstone of our program.”
