Jordann Dumont, a three-star forward in the class of 2023, has committed to Villanova, he announced Tuesday.
The 6-foot-8 Canandian, who now plays at Hamilton Heights (TN.), is the first player to commit to Villanova’s new head coach Kyle Neptune.
“I chose Villanova because as soon as I stepped in the building, I knew it was the perfect place for me,” Dumont told Joe Tipton of On3. “I fit their system of play and they have a really good winning culture. It’s also a place where I know I will get better and develop to my full potential.”
“[He’s a] 3 level scorer that’s very versatile on both ends of the floor,” Hamilton Heights head coach Steve Cook said. “[He] has a great feel for the game that will allow him to play early.”
Dumont’s commitment comes after a visit at Villanova this past weekend. He chose the Wildcats over Oklahoma State, Drake, Chattanooga, Hampton, Indiana State, and Radford, among others.
“We’re excited to welcome Jordann and his family to the Villanova community,” said Neptune. “Jordann is a long, skilled athlete who really fits our culture. We know he’ll work hard to become the best Villanova player he can be.”
