Villanova AD, Mark Jackson is headed to the Big 10 to take the head athletic position at Northwestern. He will begin Sept. 1, splitting time between Evanston and the Main Line as he transitions from ‘Nova.
Under Jackson’s ten years of leadership at Villanova, the Wildcats won 34 BIG EAST Championships. Additionally, 14 programs made their respective NCAA tournaments… including two Men’s Basketball National Championships in 2016 & 2018 (and a third Final Four in 2022).

“Mark Jackson is a dynamic and visionary leader,” said Jay Wright, former men’s basketball coach at Villanova. “He’s authentic in his relationships and commands respect and trust from all of his coaches. He and Trish were the lifeblood of our athletic department. We will miss them, and we wish them well.”
Moving on, Villanova President, Fr. Peter Donohue noted that school leadership will, “determine a transition plan, to identify an interim Director of Athletics and to map out a plan for a national search to fill the position.”
