Ware was considered an enforcer and team leader for John Calipari’s squad. Prior to the start of the 2023 NCAA Tournament, he was named a team captain alongside Jacob Toppin.
Kentucky has lost four members of the 2022-23 team to the transfer portal this offseason. Sahvir Wheeler, CJ Frederick and Damion Collins are also moving on.
By choosing Villanova for next season, Ware will have the chance to play close to his hometown of Camden, New Jersey.
Ware will have two years of eligibility remaining.
