Steven Solano, a three-star in the class of 2024, has committed to St. Joe’s, he told ZAGSBLOG.
The 7-foot big man began his career at Cardinal Hayes (NY) before finishing at the coveted La Lumiere (IN) this winter. He chooses the Hawks over St. John’s, Loyola Chicago and Iona, among others.
“It’s [A10’s] a great conference with a deep history and many great teams who have competed for NCAA championships,” he said. “St Joe’s is a place I can see myself having an impact and further on my aspirations of becoming a pro. The coaching staff is experienced and has set a good culture there. It felt like home.”
In terms of what he’ll bring to Billy Lange’s system, Solano cites his rim-running play.
“I will bring my ability to compete and play within a system,” he said. “I will bring shot blocking, great communication and great finishing.”
Solano is the second addition to the St. Joe’s roster this offseason, along with Rutgers transfer and New Jersey native Derek Simpson.
