Adrien Stevens, a three-star recruit in the class of 2025 out of The Bullis School (MD.), has received several high major offers since the June contact period opened up.
The 6-foot-4 guard has been hearing from Maryland, St. Joe’s, Virginia Tech, Providence, Xavier, Butler, and Marquette the most, he told ZAGSBLOG.
He most recently received an offer from Shaka Smart and Marquette.
“They’ve been talking to me for two or three weeks now,” Stevens said in an exclusive interview. “Ever since the live period opened up the assistant coaches have been reaching out and I’ve talked to Shaka Smart a lot.”
“They say they love the way I play,” he continued. “They want to see me continue to grow… He’s [Smart] been watching me over the year and how I’ve grown and stuff like that and sees another opportunity to see me be able to grow.”
Stevens has built a great relationship with in-state Maryland as well, who he visited around a month ago.
“Definitely would consider Maryland,” he said. “They’re a great school and really love the coaching staff. Growing up in Maryland watching the hometown team play, it’s like a dream basically.”
“As far as Maryland, they’re always going to impress with their facilities,” he said. “The coaches are really good. It’s just like a family over there already, hometown type stuff so I really like Maryland as well.”
Aside from Maryland, Stevens has also visited St. Joe’s, where his former Bullis teammate, and now standout guard Erik Reynolds II plays.
“It was cool talking to him [Reynolds], getting insight from him about the campus, the coaches and what they’re about,” he said. “I feel like they’re really all in on me which makes me feel wanted by a program and that’s special.”
Stevens will visit Virginia Tech on August 2nd. He also mentioned Indiana, Pitt, Virginia, Iowa, Syracuse, Illinois, and Temple, among others, have reached out but want to see him play more.
