Ohio State quarterback Will Howard got off to a poor start against Penn State on Saturday.
After Penn State jumped out to a 3-0 lead, it quickly became a 10-0 lead after Howard threw a pick-six. It came after he took it personally that Penn State didn’t think he was good enough despite growing up rooting for the program.
“They didn’t think I was good enough. I guess we’ll see next week if I was,” Howard said.

Naturally, college football fans mocked him on social media.
“Pick 6 on the first play is diabolical,” one fan said.
“Will Howard throwing a Pick 6 first drive for Ohio state vs Penn state after saying this is hilarious,” another fan wrote.
“Not even a quarter into the game and Will Howard has Penn State’s only touchdown,” a third person tweeted. “Safe to say he was good enough to play for them. Stud.”
Even though he made that mistake, he did bounce back with a big drive at the end of the first quarter to bring Ohio State right back into the game. He threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Emeka Egbuka to bring Ohio State back within three.
He then threw his second touchdown pass of the day to wideout Brandon Innis to give Ohio State a 14-10 lead.
This is a massive game for both teams with so much on the line. The winner will continue to be one of the top favorites to win the Big Ten and make the College Football Playoff.
Penn State has won its first seven games and is coming off a 28-13 win over Wisconsin last Saturday while Ohio State is 6-1 and beat Nebraska, 21-17, in a close affair last Saturday.
Ohio State has won seven straight against Penn State in this rivalry and hasn’t lost since 2016 when Penn State won in Happy Valley.
