Jim Harbaugh may not have been on the sidelines for Michigan in their win over Penn State this past week, but that may have only made the game more compelling for fans and the numbers reflect that.
According to Sports Media Watch via Brett McMurphy, the Michigan-Penn State game crushed the ratings in Week 11, drawing a 5.0 rating with 9.16 million viewers on FOX. No other game had a rating higher than 2.8 and only Utah-Washington had more than five million viewers.
The action on the field was pretty darn compelling up until Michigan ran away with the game (quite literally) in the fourth quarter.
Michigan fell behind on a Penn State field goal in the first quarter but took over in the second quarter with a pair of touchdowns to take a 14-9 lead. The game stayed within a score until late in the fourth quarter, when a Blake Corum touchdown run sealed a 24-15 win for the Wolverines.

Michigan take on Maryland at noon in Week 12 but it remains unclear whether Jim Harbaugh will be on the sidelines for that game either.
And The Game against Ohio State is only 11 days away…
Will Michigan have another big ratings day this weekend?
