The Big Ten is going to look vastly different this season.
USC, UCLA, Oregon, and Washington will be in the conference this year and they’re all very tough schools to play against, especially at home.
However, Joel Klatt doesn’t think any of them qualify as the toughest place to play in the conference. That honor still belongs to Penn State with Beaver Stadium.
“I think that the best environment in the new Big Ten is a whiteout at Penn State, so Penn State would be the toughest environment,” Klatt said, via On3. “Every time I talk with anybody who’s going on the road, they always say the same thing. Penn State, toughest environment in the Big Ten. So there’s that.”
If there’s a whiteout at night, there may not be a louder stadium in college football than Beaver Stadium. The crowd goes wild for that type of game and gets very loud when the other team has the ball.
This year, Penn State will welcome some of the top teams in the country to Happy Valley, including Ohio State and Washington.
Both will get to experience just how loud Beaver Stadium can get over two weekends in November.
