Jason Kelce was at State College, Pennsylvania today to be a part of ESPN’s pregame coverage of the Penn State-Ohio State game, but some unruly fans got in his face and had some truly disgusting things to say about his brother, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
While Kelce was walking around outside of Beaver Stadium today, a few fans decided to harass Kelce, sticking cameras in his face and insulting his brother using a homophobic slur.
“Kelce how does it feel that your brother is a (slur) dating Taylor Swift?” they asked.
In response, Kelce slapped the phone out of the student’s hands. When the student went to pick up his phone, Kelce stood over him and yelled back, “Who’s the (slur) now?”

Fans on social media have been praising Kelce for standing up for his brother and giving the student a taste of his own medicine. Many feel that the fan deserves far worse than what Kelce gave him:
“This is exactly how trolls should be handled in real life. Kudos to Jason Kelce,” one user wrote.
“That’s a family man standing on business,” wrote another.
“Good on Jason Kelce. Too many people think they can say what they want and they are untouchable. Actions have consequences,” a third remarked.
But others believe that Kelce played right into the man’s hands by lashing out. Some believe that the student is likely going to sue Kelce and win a ton of money over the former Super Bowl champion touching him.
“As a grown man, he should know better. Also, as a public figure, it unfortunately comes with the territory,” one user remarked.
“They always say retired players go broke, that’s a nice lawsuit coming his way,” wrote another.
“Bro got triggered over a stupid question,” a third wrote.
But one response kept getting posted over and over again: “A generation of kids that have never been punched in the face. This is the result.”
Kelce didn’t go so far as to punch or otherwise injure the student, but there are far too many people that try to get clout or bait lawsuits by baiting people into getting angry.
The sooner that stops, the sooner society becomes a little more normal again.
