Penn State didn’t take care of business on Saturday, losing to undefeated Michigan in the powerhouse Big Ten matchup.
Following the loss, the Nittany Lions moved on from offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich, a move head coach James Franklin described as difficult.
“Obviously, the first thing is appreciate the contributions that Coach Yurcich made here. Obviously, we made a tough decision that we feel like was in the best interest of the program moving forward.
“Very difficult from a personal perspective, very difficult from a professional perspective. In terms of the timing. I think for most people and most situations, if you’ve gotten to the point where you feel like that’s what you’re going to do, I’m not great at faking it. I want to be as transparent and as honest as upfront as I possibly can be.”
Penn State ranks 15th in the country in scoring, averaging nearly 38 points per game.
However, the Nittany Lions have been held to 27 total points in their two losses, against Big Ten East powerhouses Ohio State and Michigan.
