Even in the absence of head coach Jim Harbaugh, quarterback J.J. McCarthy were able to knock off their Penn State rivals in a 24-15 win today. After the game, the whole team was filled with emotion.
Speaking to reporters after the game, McCarthy revealed what Harbaugh told him prior to the game. “I love you so much. Go be you,” Harbaugh said, per McCarthy, via Alejandro Zuniga.
McCarthy wasn’t asked to do much in the game as he threw only eight passes, completing seven of them for 60 yards while adding another 34 on the ground.
Running backs Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards did the dirty work on offense, combining for 36 carries and 197 yards on the ground.

Yesterday the Big Ten ruled that Jim Harbaugh cannot coach on the sidelines for the remainder of the regular season. The University of Michigan tried to get an injunction passed in court, but were unable to before today’s game.
With today’s win, the Michigan Wolverines are now 10-0 on the season with games against Maryland and Ohio State still to play.
If Michigan is able to get that injunction passed, Harbaugh will be back on the sideline for at least one of those final two games.
