ESPN sportscaster Mark Jones has been on the call for today’s Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl between Ole Miss and Penn State. Thus far, he hasn’t exactly made new fans for his performance today.
Over the three-and-a-half hour broadcast, fans have criticized Jones for everything from how he refers to Ole Miss as “Mississippi” to his excessive use of new words to describe just about everything that happens on the football field.
It’s reached the point that there are almost as many tweets just about Jones as the actual game that’s been going on. Here are just a few of the highlights:
Mark Jones attempts to use a thesaurus for every sentence takes away from the broadcast.

Mark Jones just called Penn State “a true and pure blue blood of college football”.

The game itself was pretty one-sided. After an exchange of field goals in the first quarter, Ole Miss scored a touchdown to take the lead and never trailed again.
The Rebels will finish the season ranked in the top 10 for just the second time in the last 50 years.
As for the Nittany Lions, they will finish 10-3, giving them double-digit wins for the fifth time under head coach James Franklin.
Was this a fitting way for both seasons to end?
