Penn State quarterback Drew Allar’s first game against Ohio State has been anything but pleasant.
So far, Allar has completed just 10-of-25 pass attempts for 115 yards. To be fair, the coaching staff hasn’t really opened up its playbook.
Moments ago, ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky made it abundantly clear that he’s not a fan of Penn State’s coaching this Saturday.
“Penn State thinks they’re ‘protecting’ Allar,” Orlovsky wrote on X. “It’s the opposite. They’re making his job so much harder living in this Run-Run-Pass World.”

Most people believe Penn State is running a conservative offense because its coaching staff doesn’t trust Allar. Orlovsky had a wise response to that claim.
“Where do you trust him less? 3rd and 8 or 1st and 10? At some point we have to make it easier on everyone, not just the QB,” Orlovsky said.
Allar came into this Saturday’s game with 1,254 passing yards and 12 touchdowns. Although fans expected him to struggle, it’s shocking to see the Nittany Lions fail to find the end zone.
