It was a tough Saturday for Drew Allar and the Penn State offense in their loss to Ohio State.
And while he certainly wasn’t the reason why the Nittany Lions left Columbus with their first loss of the season, PSU could only muster 12 points all game (the last of which came with :29 seconds left).
Asked how he thought he played in the postgame press conference, Allar tearfully said “[I] sucked” followed up by “Because I did” when asked why.

Allar finished 18-of-43 for 191 yards and a touchdown on the afternoon. But some fans came to his defense on social media:
“He had no help from his receivers,” a user said. “They could have won that game if they had an offense today.”

“I still think his future is very bright. Just wasn’t ready for a game or team of this magnitude,” another replied.

“So tough to watch this kid with amazing talent have to try and succeed under the mediocrity of Mike yurcich and James Franklin,” a fan commented. “Not his fault.”

“I feel bad for him,” another person admitted. “Was he great? No. But it’s not fair to ask him to bail out incompetent playcalling.”
