Tyrese Maxey is gaining a little momentum with fan voting as he vies for his second All-Star appearance.
The NBA announced it’s second fan voting returns for the 2024 All-Star game on Thursday afternoon, with several Sixers featured.
Giannis Antetokounmpo and Nikola Jokić continue to lead their respective conferences in the second fan returns of #NBAAllStar Voting presented by AT&T.
Fans account for 50% of the vote to decide All-Star starters. Players and a media panel account for 25% each.

Tyrese Maxey remains the leading vote getter from the Sixers, now amassing over 460,000 votes and surpassing Detroit’s Cade Cunningham. Both Joel Embiid and Paul George have slipped, with Cleveland’s Evan Mobley surpassing both.
As of now, it seems highly unlikely that any Sixer will start in the 2024 All-Star Game, particularly given the team’s lackluster record and the limited availability of Embiid and George. Maxey, however, appears to be the most likely to earn a spot as a reserve if the voting trends we’ve seen continue.
Outside of Sixerland, Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo and Denver’s Nikola Jokic continue to lead the fan vote in their respective conferences. Orlando’s Paolo Banchero has made a strong push since the last update, and is on the outside looking in on the final frontcourt spot in the Eastern Conference.
The Eastern frontcourt starters seem poised to feature some combination of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum and Karl-Anthony Towns. The reserve selections, however, will be fascinating to watch, as players like Banchero, Jimmy Butler and Franz Wagner have all missed significant time this season.
Out West, we see little changes from the first update apart from some minor movement. Golden State’s Steph Curry has surpassed Dallas’ Luka Doncic for second in the backcourt voting. Oklahoma City’s Jalen Williams has made a strong push, finally surpassing Andrew Wiggins who is somehow still featured in the top 10. It’s nice to see Clippers’ Norman Powell get some much deserved shine, as the veteran is having his best year yet.
The next fan update will release in exactly one week from today, on Jan. 16 with fan voting concluding on the 20th. NBA on TNT will reveal the 2025 All-Star game starters on Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. EST.
