The Philadelphia 76ers have an open spot on the roster for a two-way contract after waiving forward Pete Nance on Monday after just over a month with the organization.
Pete Nance, we hardly knew ye.
The Philadelphia 76ers announced on Monday evening that the team has waived the two-way big after just over a month with the organization.
We have waived Pete Nance.

The son of 14-year NBA veteran Larry Nance and brother of Atlanta Hawks’ Larry Nance Jr., Nance was signed to the Sixers back in the beginning of December 2024 after spending the beginning of the 2024-25 season with the Cleveland Cavaliers’ G League affiliate, the Cleveland Charge. In those couple of weeks with Philadelphia, Nance appeared in just one NBA contest for the Sixers in addition to five G League games with the Delaware Blue Coats, with whom he averaged 15.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.6 blocks per game playing 34 minutes a night.
This move came before the passing of a Jan. 7 deadline that fully guarantees the contracts of two-way players with their teams through that date. Nance will instead receive a prorated portion of his two-way salary.
With no corresponding move announced, the Sixers are now one of three teams in the association with an open two-way spot on the roster alongside the Orlando Magic and the Golden State Warriors. Jeff Dowtin Jr. and Justin Edwards currently occupy the other two-way slots for Philadelphia.
With the way this season is going for the Sixers, a pickup of another two-way caliber player isn’t likely to tip the scales in a major way, but we shall see what the team decides to do going forward with their open spot.
