Philadelphia will welcome a face from Process past as they kick off their preseason slate.
A couple weeks ago, the Philadelphia 76ers released their 2024 preseason schedule and there was one curious item: the “TBA” opponent for the October 7 game at home. Yesterday, we learned who that opponent will be:

The New Zealand Breakers will also play the Utah Jazz and the Oklahoma City Thunder on their NBA tour this fall. They are the only non-Australian team in that country’s National Basketball League. Last season, they finished sixth with a 13-15 record and lost in the Play-In game. Last year’s leading scorer was former Arizona Wildcats guard Parker Jackson-Cartwright, and this summer, they brought in a familiar face, former Sixers forward Jonah Bolden.
Bolden has been on a bit of a journey since being waived by the Sixers in 2020. He played on one 10-day contract with the Phoenix Suns, before retiring from basketball to trade cryptocurrency. That retirement lasted three years, before Bolden signed with the Sydney Kings last summer.
It’ll be fun to see Jonah out there on the court at the Center once again, and this game will be a nice tune-up for Philadelphia between training camp in The Bahamas and facing the Minnesota Timberwolves on October 11. Of course, we’re just excited to see Paul George’s debut in a Sixers uniform, in addition to the other new arrivals. We at Liberty Ballers are still awaiting word on whether the Sixers will sell Four’N Twenty pies during the game in honor of an Australian Process legend’s return.
