With training camp one month away, Philadelphia announces another member of the squad heading to The Bahamas.
With training camp for the Philadelphia 76ers officially one month away (October 1 through October 5 in The Bahamas), the team announced the signing of undrafted rookie guard Judah Mintz. Sources have confirmed to Liberty Ballers that this is an Exhibit 10 deal.
Here’s an excerpt of the release from Philadelphia 76ers Public Relations:
“Philadelphia 76ers President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey announced today that the team has signed Judah Mintz. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Mintz most recently appeared in eight games for the 76ers between the Salt Lake City Summer League and NBA 2K25 Summer League in Las Vegas, averaging a combined 9.5 points and 1.5 assists.
Across two seasons at Syracuse, Mintz appeared in 64 games (63 starts), averaging 17.5 points, 4.5 assists, and 2.0 steals. As a sophomore, he was second in the ACC with an average of 18.8 points per game, while his 4.4 assists were fourth in the conference. Following the season, Mintz was selected to the All-ACC Second Team.”
Mintz definitely separated himself from the undrafted pack during his time with the Sixers in Vegas, highlighted by his 18 points, five assists, and four steals in the final win over Boston. He’s a tenacious perimeter defender and you can see the outlines for a 3-and-D guard at the professional level. It seemed possible the former Syracuse guard would earn the team’s last remaining two-way spot, before it went to Jeff Dowtin, Jr.
The Sixers clearly liked what they saw, though, and want to keep him around the organization. As with all of these Exhibit 10 deals, the likeliest scenario is that Mintz will wind up a Delaware Blue Coat. However, you never know, and we’ll see what Mintz brings to the hardwood in the Caribbean next month.
