We are less than one month away from Philadelphia 76ers basketball.
The when and where of just about every opponent for the Sixers’ 2024-25 season has been revealed.
The last piece of the puzzle to drop was the preseason schedule, which the team announced late Tuesday afternoon. They’ll kick things off at home on October 7 and wrap things up in Orlando against the Magic on October 18.

Now, eagle-eyed readers will notice that the opponent for that first matchup on October 7 is still to be announced. That’s a bit surprising, given that it’s less than a month away and it’s only the preseason after all.
The rest of the opponents are fairly common for the Sixers’ dress rehearsals, featuring division opponents such as the Celtics and Nets. By the way, has “TBA” ever appeared on an official team graphic like this before?
As a matter of fact, six games feels like quite a lot for the preseason, especially as like the NFL, it’s rare to see starting players play more than a couple of minutes.
However, the Sixers have plenty of rookies, two-way guys, and players on exhibit-10 contracts who will be more than happy to get those reps.
Jared McCain and Adem Bona are trying to earn rotation minutes and play their way out of spending most of this upcoming season with the Delaware Blue Coats.
Meanwhile, summer league alums such as Jeff Dowtin Jr., Justin Edwards, David Jones, and Judah Mintz will also be looking for a chance to showcase themselves and keep their foot in the door.
Sixers basketball will be back before you know it.
