It’s uniform speculation season…
A beloved Sixers jersey might be returning for the upcoming 2024-25 season. It isn’t the first jersey that comes to mind — the 2001 Allen Iverson era throwbacks — but it’s a good one. It appears the Sixers are remastering their city edition uniforms from the 2021-22 season, which pay tribute to the Spectrum.
Jeff Ament from Pearl Jam wore what many believe is the 2024-25 City Edition uniform during a performance at Wells Fargo Center.
Yep, here we have it, folks. Jeff Ament from Pearl Jam rocked an authentic 2024/25 City Edition Tyrese Maxey jersey last night when they played Wells Fargo.

This jersey is almost identical in design to the 2021-22 City Edition uniforms, with a few differences. The obvious one being that it has a white base, rather than the dark navy blue of old. The older jersey also had matching fonts and colors for the ‘Sixers’ and number on the front. This newer one departs from that, featuring a red team name with a blue number.
The same paneling of old seems to carry over on the side, with the red (Phillies), orange (Flyers), green (Eagles), and blue (Sixers) paying homage to all four major Philadelphia sports teams.
It certainly isn’t the ‘01 uniform fans have been begging the team to offer for over a decade, but this is a solid choice for an alternative uniform. The Spectrum jerseys of a few years ago were the best jerseys they put out in a long time. Switching a few minor things up to keep them fresh and re-releasing them for fans who didn’t get the first one should be a welcome sight for most.
Casey Vitelli, who does jersey mock-ups, created a high resolution image of the new jersey to provide a better look:

We’ll soon get an idea of whether this is a throwaway concept from the past, or a glimpse of what’s to come.
