Joel Embiid remains out Monday, but Paul George is expected to make his Sixers debut against the Suns.
Is that good news?
The Inquirer’s Keith Pompey reported that the Sixers have upgraded Paul George to questionable for tomorrow’s contest against the Phoenix Suns. The obvious caveat is that he’ll have to go through his pregame warmup tomorrow and see how he feels after.
This would be George’s Sixers debut after just playing a game and a half in the preseason. The nine-time All-Star hyperextended his left knee in Atlanta in a preseason game against the Hawks back on Oct. 14. He was diagnosed with a bone bruise, avoiding major injury, but has been out since.
It was revealed at practice on Friday that both George and Joel Embiid were able to fully participate in practice, including 5-on-5 scrimmaging. Embiid, however, remains out of the lineup.
The Sixers say Paul George — who has yet to play this season with a bone bruise in his left knee — is questionable tomorrow in Phoenix against the Suns, the start of Philly’s West Coast trip. Philly is at the Clippers, George’s former team, Wednesday.

It couldn’t come at a better time. After their miserable loss to the Memphis Grizzlies Saturday night, the Sixers are off to a 1-4 start, with an average margin of defeat of 12.5 points in those four losses. As for the vibes off the court, well, they could certainly be better now couldn’t they?
When George spoke to the media after practice on Friday about going on this road trip because it included visiting the Clippers he didn’t say much, but he eagerly responded “Absolutely, yes” to whether he was going.
Things could turn around for this team quite quickly if he’s able to have a successful homecoming. The Sixers take on the Suns Monday, Clippers Wednesday and then close out their three-game West Coast swing with a game against LeBron James and the Lakers.
